Thematic Group on Knowledge and Innovation Exchange within the AKIS system (GT AKIS) was established by the Agricultural Advisory Centre in Brwinów on 8th January 2026.

GT AKIS is a consultative and advisory body on the exchange of knowledge and innovation within the AKIS system.

Tasks of the thematic group:

• monitoring cooperation between entities participating in the AKIS system in Poland in order to improve the exchange of knowledge between academia and practice;
• monitoring the implementation of measures supporting the exchange of knowledge and innovation within the AKIS system under various instruments of the CAP Strategic Plan (including the Polish Rural Network+ (PRN+));
• developing proposed solutions aimed at improving cooperation between the entities forming the AKIS system in Poland;
• suggesting improvements to the implementation of instruments supporting the AKIS system under the CAP Strategic Plan;
• suggesting actions or good practices that support the exchange of knowledge and innovation relevant to support under the PRN+;
• exchanging information and experiences regarding the implementation of projects under the Horizon Europe programme and others funded from EU or national budget resources, in particular those carried out using a multi-actor approach;
• participating in the preparation of, or providing opinions on, documents affecting the functioning of the AKIS system;
• identifying key barriers and constraints to the exchange of knowledge and innovation within the AKIS system.

The group consists of representatives involved in the Agricultural Knowledge And Innovation System, agricultural policy implementation, research, education, advisory services and rural development. The representatives included:

a) public administration and public bodies, including representatives of the government administration, especially the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the PRN+, public agencies and agricultural advisory services;

b) research and educational institutions, including representatives of research institutes, higher education and agricultural education institutions;

c) other stakeholders, including representatives of farmers’ organisations, business organisations, non-governmental organisations, private advisory providers and producer organisations, as well as the permanent Chair of this thematic group.
