Generation renewal under RDP 2014-2020

Shaping the rural society, including the encouragement of young people to become involved in farming, has been and is a concern for all European countries. In Poland, where family farms dominate, assistance and support for successors taking over farms on the basis of succession are among the key challenges of the Common Agricultural Policy. Taking over farms and running agricultural production by natural successors should be approached from many different angles, including legal, social, technological and economic. The film presents support instruments under the RDP 2014-2020, which directly brought about the generation renewal of the Polish rural society.

Contemporary transformation in rural areas is characterised by a rapid increase in the social and economic activity of the inhabitants. One important trend is the growing number of Polish non-agricultural enterprises in rural areas. Thanks to support for micro, small and medium enterprises after Poland’s accession to the European Union, conditions were created for the development and diversification of the rural economy. Currently, farms are also changing their profile, introducing new forms of economic activity, mainly services and trade. The importance of non-agricultural entrepreneurship in their income is increasing. The film presents a number of the implemented measures, which directly or indirectly contributed to the development of entrepreneurship in Polish rural areas.
